Overview of Palagama BeachOn the west coast of Sri Lanka, nestled on the ancient Kalpitiya peninsula, lies Palagama Beach Resort. Undulating dunes, wild beaches and lush jungle create the backdrop to an extraordinary village of villas and cabanas. We're not a hotel or resort. We offer something different – a home of your own.
Nature has a calming influence on the mind and the body, that's why every detail of Palagama Beach Resort is designed to bring you back to her. It's this unique design philosophy that sets us apart.
Be it the shade of a cluster of palm trees or the sloping contours of a dune, we used naturally occurring features as the starting point for all our designs. The result is a subtle fusion of architecture and nature where the boundaries between interior and exterior blur creating new living spaces.
Accommodation at Palagama BeachCabanasJasmine CabanaHere at Palagama Beach Resort, we’re particularly fond of Jasmine. Why? It was the first cabana we built. Maybe it’s the luxurious red balou wood or perhaps the raised front veranda, but Jasmine has a personality and presence that catches the eye.
For many of us, an afternoon kip is one of the best things about a holiday. Well, in the back garden you’ll find a low, cushioned bed that’s ideal for post-lunch dozing. After all, it’s the simple things in life that are the best.
Nellum CabanaNellum is the ultimate place to relax. The largest in the cabana family, it's distinctive, rich red colour gives it an air of luxury.
But what makes Nellum unique is the private back garden. Three large palm trees form a perfect circle of shade around a low cushioned relaxation area. It’s the ideal place to take refuge from the heat or gaze at the stars. With exterior dimmer lighting, you can sit out back, sip a drink and create your own atmosphere.
Rosa CabanaWith its traditional village hut design, cadjan roof and soft pink colour, Rosa has a quiet charm. Set in a large garden, and secluded by bamboo fencing, it’s your very own private little piece of Palagama Beach Resort. Lie on the soft grass and take in a blue sky, or doze off on the veranda listening to the birds. Rosa is a rustic delight and it's spacious and luxurious too.
For those who desire peace, quiet and a little extra privacy, look no further than sweet Rosa.
Beach cabanaIntroducing the newest and one of the most breathtaking additions to Palagama Beach Resort. Situated right on the beach and made entirely out of cadjan and wood, this quaint cabana is a picture of serenity.
But it’s the truly extraordinary views of the Indian Ocean that stay in the mind. From the comfort of your own bed, witness the sun slowing setting over calm blue waters. Or if you prefer, listen to the calming surf on your own private deck.
Begonia VillaPrivate, spacious and luxurious, it’s a place where life moves at a gentle pace. With two ensuite bedrooms, you can rent the whole villa or just one of the living areas.
In Begonia, experience is anything you make it. You can doze off in the garden on our ambalama bench, chill out on the veranda or just admire the beautiful views from the private tree top deck.
Araliya HouseWith its unique curved roof and charming design, Araliya House captivates the eye. A haven of luxury and calm, Araliya is broken into two separate units – a living quarters (sleeps up to four people) and a kitchen and living room area. This simple division creates an ideal balance between interior and exterior space.
One minute you can be eating alfresco under the shelter of the illuk roof, the next, reclining in the living room reading a book. It’s this ability to move around and find your own personal space that draws you in to Araliya’s wonderful and relaxing world.
Tucked away from the main village, Araliya sits on a flat four acre plain offering seclusion and privacy. With your own kitchen and antique furnishings throughout, we’ve gone the extra mile to ensure that your stay in Araliya House is as comfortable as possible.
Some people want more than a place to stay, they want a home.
Khomba HouseOccasionally we all like to treat ourselves to something really special. Khomba House is the largest home available to rent and is 350 metres from Palagama Beach Resort. It has two large double bedrooms (can sleep up to 10) a spacious living/lounging area and a kitchen. You can sip your coffee in the morning whilst listening to the surf too.
