Attractions
Turtle farm – Kosgoda ( 4 km )
Kosgoda is famous for its turtle hatchery- operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1981 to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the sandy beach. Visitors can see huge tanks fille.

Ten kilometers north of Bentota is pretty Brief Garden. It used to be the home of landscape artist, sculptor & bon-vivant Bevis Bawa, older brother of illustrious Geoffrey Bawa, one of the twentieth century's foremost Asian architects. Its a wonderful creation of creative landscaping. Each and every corner makes you a surprise.

Moonstone mines – Ambalangoda ( 20 km )
The moonstone mines of Meetiyagoda are situated in the hinterland. This is one of the very few places in the world where blue gleaming moonstones are found.A number of stores and stalls sell jewellery made with these semi-precious stones.
River and lagoon boat trips – Bentota river and on madu river
