Day 1 - Negombo

Arrival in Colombo International Airport and meet with our driver. You will be then transferred to Negombo, just 20 minutes' drive away from Colombo International Airport. You will be staying in a small guest house in Negombo, very closer to the beach, restaurants and pubs. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure chilling out by the pool or by the beach.

Day 2, 3 & 4 - Habarana

Stay three nights in a small lodge in Habarana, closer to the very heart of cultural triangle of Sri Lanka to explore the historical highlights such as Polonnaruwa ruins, Dambulla Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Day two enables you to chill out by the pool in the lodge after being driven from Negombo as the next two days will be packed with many experiences to spice up your holiday in Sri Lanka.

On day three, you will be joining a villager who will take you for an authentic village trip in his open top jeep visiting rural villages surrounding Sigiriya Rock Fortress to witness day to day activities of the villagers, irrigation lakes, ancient temples and farming fields followed by a home cooked lunch at the villager's home. In the afternoon you could explore Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

On day four, visit and explore Polonnaruwa ruins followed by an expertly guided safari in Minneriya NP to see the Elephants in the wild.

Day 5 & 6 - Kandy

Be driven to Kandy, the most venerated city of Sri Lanka for two nights stay in a very authentic home stay where you would be learning about people of Sri Lanka and enjoy a culinary experience during your tour in Sri Lanka. On your way from Habarana, visit Dambulla Cave Temple and Temple of Tooth Relic to witness centuries old Buddhist pilgrimage rituals before heading to the home stay in Kandy. At the home stay, take part in cooking a unique local meal called “Kottu Roti” for dinner, a fun and exciting culinary experience.

On day six, visit a local market with a lady guide to buy and learn about local vegetables and spices. At the market, it is an interesting experience to try your bargaining skills with the local vendors. After the market visit, come back to the home stay to cook a traditional meal for your lunch with the lady host. After enjoying lunch, you have a brief time for relaxation.

In the late afternoon, set out for a cultural walk with a lady guide to explore the village and its diligent inhabitants who indulge in various cottage industries and various agricultural practices in order to make a living. Enjoy the evening breeze and the serene environment while talking to the villagers about their culture and lifestyles. Watch how Kitul Treacle is tapped from the Kitul palm and how this sugary sweet sap is concentrated under high heat to be poured into moulds which is then turned into jaggery. You would also visit a few homes to watch the production of hand-made incense sticks, creative woodwork and the weaving of reed baskets and mats. After enjoying a cup of plain tea with Kitul jaggery we will visit a small tea plantation to observe closely the hand harvesting of tea, a village vegetable farm, a rice field and a domestic spice garden.

Day 7 - Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy a scenic train journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya and stay a night in small hotel in Nuwara Eliya. In the afternoon, do some leisurely strolls in Nuwara Eliya town exploring the markets and old English buildings. Why not a try some draft beer in one of the street bars in town?

Day 8 & 9 - Ella

Now we go to Ella for two nights, one of the popular hill stations in Sri Lanka famous for it's scenic views. Before heading to Ella, take an early morning nature trail in Horton Plains National Park which is a bio diversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. During the nature trail, you would be able to visit World's end point and Baker's waterfall and witness wildlife such as Sambar Deer and many varieties of Birds. You will be staying two nights in Ella in a small hotel with scenic views of Ella mountains.

On day nine, explore Ella's star attractions such as 9 Arch bridge and trek to Little Adam's Peak for great views. Try some of the trendy local restaurants in Ella for great local food during your holiday in Sri Lanka.

Day 10 - Yala

Just 2 hours from Ella, is the much famed Yala NP, one of the best places to see the elusive Leopards. You will be staying in a safari lodge on this night and upon arrival, spend some relaxing time chilling out by the pool before setting for a Kayaking trip in the lake in time for sunset.

Day 11, 12 & 13 - Galle

Take up on a guided safari game drive in Yala National Park in the morning to see Leopards, Elephants, Sloth Bears and many varieties of birds.

Now it is the beach time of your holiday in Sri Lanka, after the safari in Yala, drive to Galle for three nights beach stay. Before heading to your beach guest house in Unawatuna beach, explore the historical Galle Fort in the afternoon to see the old town and fort built by the Portuguese, later occupied by Dutch settlers.

You will be staying three nights on the beach, in a small gust house right on Unawatuna Beach which is popular for it's seafood restaurants and nightlife. When not relaxing by the beach, you could go snorkeling in Unawatuna Bay.

14 - Departure

Your trip to Sri Lanka comes to an end, transfer to Colombo International Airport for the flight back home.
