Day 1 - Home cooked traditional lunch
Arrive at the Home Stay in Bentota in time for lunch where the host is ready to serve you a home cooked traditional lunch in their home. After a brief rest, set off to experience a traditional dugout catamaran ride in a serene lake in Bentota where one could experience birdlife and beautiful countryside of Bentota. You too could try your skills in paddling the boat with the help of the local boatman.
Back at the home stay, enjoy a dinner with the local family followed by a chit chat about the day’s experience before retiring for the day.

Day 2 - Authentic Village Life
Set off early morning in a local bus towards the border of Sinharaja rain forest to experience the authentic village life by visiting local boutiques, rural village homes and even visiting a hidden Buddhist monastery in the border of Sinharaja rain forest. You will experience the legendary ecofriendly life style of a pleasant remote village, unspoiled by modern concrete buildings or lifestyle, which helps to protect the wonders of nature as it is. Trek through a hard-rocky path to reach a Buddhist monastery, where the monks keep themselves away from the busy world in meditating in order to get rid of one’s lust and desire to attain Nibbana. Witness the process of making Kitul Juggery using the sap collected from Kitul Trees. You will have the opportunity of dipping into chilled fresh water ponds as well. Enjoy a home cooked lunch by a village family before heading back to the home stay, enjoy a sun downer on a rock cliff with 360-degree view of the surrounding countryside on the way.
Arriving back at the home stay and freshen up, take part in cooking Sri Lankan Hoppers, for dinner. Hopper making is a uniquely Sri Lankan experience and is a delicious culinary journey. Call it a day at the home stay.
