An exciting wildlife tour of southern Sri Lanka to witness Sri Lanka's Big 4 staying in some of the interesting camps in Udawalawe and Yala is an experiential journey in a short duration. Enjoy a real outdoor camping experience staying inside Udawalawe NP while Yala is a glamping stay just by the border of Yala NP. Our guides will take you for safari game drives, guided bush walks and even arrange BBQ dinners amidst roaring campfires. Not only the wildlife encounters, this is a culinary journey where you would be able to enjoy freshly cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. At the end, venture into the Indian Ocean to see the giants of the waters, Blue Whales. Not forgetting the rich birdlife of Bundala NP, a very important site for birds of Sri Lanka.

Day 1 - Udawalawe National Park
You will be picked up in Colombo by our chauffeur for the transfer to Udawalawe NP in the morning hours. After checking in to Udawalawe NP’s safari camp inside the park, you will be served a freshly prepared lunch by the camp staff prior to venturing out to see the Asian Elephants in a private safari game drive. Upon returning to the camp for the night, enjoy a hearty BBQ dinner arranged at the camp before calling it a day.

Day 2 - Yala National Park
A wake up call early morning at 5.30 followed by a freshly brewed coffee or tea you venture again in to experience and witness the Asian Elephants, Crocodiles, Spotted Deer and many verities of birds. Udawalawe NP is one of the best places to see Elephants in large herds in their utmost natural habitat. Have a hearty breakfast at the camp and be driven to Yala which is just 2 hours away for an exciting glamping experience.
Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch freshly cooked for you. In the afternoon you could either relax by the camp enjoying a chilled beer or you may opt for a bush walk with an experienced naturalist to see local wildlife such as wild Buffaloes, Birds or even Elephants. A sundowner will be served near a scenic lake where you could see many birds returning to their nests while you sip an ice-cold beer or cup of Ceylon tea.

Day 3 - Yala National Park
Again an early morning wake up call followed by Tea or Coffee to start the day. You will be going for a full day safari game drive with picnic refreshments in Yala NP to see the Leopards. A freshly cooked rice and curry lunch will be brought to the park from the camp will be served by the beach. Yala NP is a very popular place to see the elusive Leopards in a fairly easy manner. Of course, little bit of luck too required. Not only Leopards, Yala NP is home for Sloth Bears, Crocodiles, Spotted Deer and many varieties of birds.
Return to the camp after your full day safari and the camp crew will be ready to host you for a private BBQ dinner on a rock cliff at the camp overlooking Yala NP. Before resorting to bed, do some star gazing on the rock, a magical experience at the sky here is very clear on most days.

Day 4 - Bundala National Park
Yet another early start at 5.30 AM, after tea head to Bundala NP, an important birding site for the keen bird watchers. Many endemic, resident and migratory birds could bee seen during the morning safari and Bundala is home for not only birds but Elephants, Crocodiles and Spotted Deer. On return to the camp, enjoy a traditional breakfast before heading to your next and last destination, Mirissa.
A 3 hour drive approximately you will arrive in south coast beach of Mirissa. Spend some relaxing time on the beach in the afternoon.

Day 5 - Mirissa
You will be taken to Mirissa fisheries harbor at 6 AM to go the Indian Ocean to witness Blue Whales. Continental shelf is so close to the shore in Mirissa so in just 1 ½ hours in to the deep see you could see the giants in the Ocean, the Blue Whales. Reurn to the shore and be transferred to Colombo where your trip ends.
